Synopsis
A modern-day story about the search for wealth in the world of West Texas oil rigs.. A landman, at least one who works in the petroleum industry, acts as a middleman between the exploration companies and the landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and enter into contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent.

Essentially, they manage the land and secure the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, worker housing (man camps), oversee the assembly of excavation machinery, and the drilling of the well site itself, especially in remote locations. They are also part fixer, problem solver, and mediator..
Landman is another in a long line of hits for Taylor Sheridan
This show has everything you want in a good show: plenty of drama, action, twists, even a little comedy, etc. The script is obviously beautifully written because everything Sheridan does is beautiful, but the cast is fantastic too. It features the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, and Demi Moore.
The same goes for Hamm
Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role and he is just amazing. I would be shocked if he didn’t get nominated for an Emmy for his performance here. Not only is the show beautifully written and acted, but it is beautifully filmed.

Sheridan has so many great shows under her belt and Landman is among the best.
